Point San Luis Lighthouse Wedding in Avila Beach, California | Natalie & Ryan

When I first met Natalie and Ryan, I knew that their wedding was going to be something special. They are both rock climbers and winemakers, with an effortless and infectious easygoing attitude about them. I immediately wanted MORE… more of their story, more of the epic wine they made together, and more time with them in general.

They fell in love while rock climbing and used that love to fuel their MIND-BOGGLINGLY GOOD wine label, Outward Wines. They meticulously select & harvest grapes from all over the Central Coast of California and do their sorcery to convert it into the most epic, punchy, memorable wine. (They taught me so much about wine.. but I truly don’t know much, all I know is that Randy at Field Day carries their wine and he’s extremely picky so it must be something special… and let me tell you, I literally cried drinking one of their wines… anyway, back to the subject at hand; their wedding!).

They had intentionally chosen the Point San Luis Lighthouse as the location for their big day. I was thrilled to be a part of such a unique and community-focused wedding, and I knew that it would be a day full of personal and emotional moments.

The location they selected was appropriately natural, breathtaking, and un-fussy. The Point San Luis Lighthouse is a Central Coast GEM. The lighthouse was built in 1890 and offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and nearby hills. It's the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts and adventure-seekers, which is why it was the perfect location for the wedding of these two rock climbers and winemakers.

Natalie and Ryan wanted a location that reflected their love of nature and the outdoors. Point San Luis Lighthouse was the perfect choice. The ceremony was held on the lighthouse grounds, with the Pacific Ocean as the backdrop. The couple exchanged vows in front of their closest friends and family, with the sound of the waves crashing in the background.

They did something extremely special that brought me to tears… they wrote letters to each individual guest and surprised them by having them read their letters as part of the ceremony. Just so incredible.

The reception was equally delightful and community focused. The guests enjoyed delicious food made by an incredible local chef, wine made by the couple and other special winemakers, while they enjoyed the beautiful views of the ocean and the lighthouse. Because they value their people so much, I helped Natalie and Ryan carve out time in their wedding day to be intentionally present during their cocktail hour. It was so special to see them mingling with their most loved people and truly enjoying their party after an efficient photoshoot.

As a wedding photographer, it was an honor to capture the love and joy of Natalie and Ryan and their people on this special day. The natural beauty of Point San Luis Lighthouse provided the perfect setting for their unique and deeply personal wedding.

Natalie and Ryan’s wedding at Point San Luis Lighthouse was a true celebration of love and adventure. It was a day that will be remembered by all who attended, and the photos will serve as a lasting reminder of the love and joy shared by the couple and their people.

If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind wedding location, Point San Luis Lighthouse is the perfect choice for adventurous and nature-loving couples.
